My name is Brian Rijsouw, I’m the founder and Director of Scoutr.

I started Scoutr after spending more than 20 years helping businesses across ANZ and Europe hire and scale and seeing first-hand how hard hiring becomes once a company starts growing quickly.

There’s no time, no internal hiring function, and the pressure to get it right feels enormous, because we can’t afford to get it wrong.
Scoutr exists to take that pressure off. We’re a Talent Service Provider built specifically for start-ups and scale-ups, delivering fast, focused recruitment (on a per hire basis or via subscription hiring), fractional talent support, and role clarity through The Hire Blueprint.

  • Is Scoutr a recruitment agency?

    Scoutr is a Talent Service Provider and recruitment services are part of what we do. We focus on reducing hiring risks for start-ups and scale-ups as they grow. That means clearer roles, better decisions, and support that adapts as hiring becomes more frequent, not transactional CV delivery.

  • Who does Scoutr work with?

    We partner with financially stable, high performing businesses, typically between 15 and 100 staff, who are doing well, but feel the pressure when to hiring. Businesses where growth is real, momentum matters, and getting hiring wrong has real consequences.

  • Do you only work with tech companies?

    No. While many clients are tech or digital businesses, Scoutr works across industries. The common thread is growth pressure and the need to get hiring decisions right.

  • How fast can you move?

    Fast when it matters, but never rushed. Speed comes from clarity upfront, not cutting corners. Once the role is properly defined, the process moves quickly without compromising on quality or long term fit.

  • What is the subscription model?

    The subscription model is designed for businesses hiring multiple roles over time. It reduces placement fees, provides priority access and extended guarantees, and creates a long term hiring partnership rather than a one off transaction.

  • Is Scoutr right for early stage start ups?

    Yes, Scoutr is a strong fit for early-stage start-ups that are ready to make intentional, high-impact hires. We work best with founders making their first critical hires who want clarity on the role, outcomes, and hiring strategy before going to market. If you’re still pre-revenue or hiring opportunistically without clear role definition, Scoutr may be premature.
